strategic plan
▪ Work to build treasury to a minimum of one year's worth of operating expenses
▪ Implement plans to support required delegates to Biennial Convention House of Delegates
sessions every other year
▪ Complete Required Reports
o Chapter Annual Report
o U.S. Chapters-IRS 990 (annually)
o Non-U.S. Chapters-(comply with country's regulations for nonprofit/NGO/association
status/etc.
▪ Conduct one or more inductions annually
▪ Build member base to 50 or more active members
▪ Conduct 2 or more programs for year 1
▪ Plan future programming for year 3
▪ Conduct annual business meetings
Newly chartered chapters are to maintain regular communication with Sigma staff as they complete all milestones outlined in the agreed upon New Chapter Action Plan. The new chapter's progress will be evaluated at the end of the first year of operation. If all milestones are met successfully, new chapters will be transitioned to operate independently (with support from chapter and membership staff as needed).
• If milestones are not yet met but satisfactory progress of the Chapter Action Plan is being made, the chapter action plan will be renewed for another six months at which point progress will be re-evaluated.
• Failure to maintain satisfactory progress of the Chapter Action Plan, to maintain regular communication with chapter development staff, or to complete all milestones outlined in the Chapter Action Plan may result in probationary action as outlined is Sigma's International Bylaws Article IV. Section 9.
